Yes! PROVEN only uses ingredients that are clinically proven to be safe and effective. We also only use clean, non-toxic ingredients that are never tested on animals.

PROVEN products are formulated in collaboration with Dr. Hollmig, Former Head of Aesthetic Dermatology at Stanford University, using active ingredients customized for your skin.

Yes! The more accurate your answers are, the more precise your formulations will be, and your skincare will work better. If you've retaken the quiz after processing your order, please email us at care@provenskincare.com to try and incorporate your new results into your formulations before shipment.

We only need you to complete the quiz once; however, we encourage you to retake the quiz if and when you experience significant changes in your life, location, or skin, so that we can factor those into your next formulation. Regardless of whether you update your quiz or not, we’ll always consider your skin adaptation cycle and seasonal changes in your next formulation.

Because PROVEN products are made for your specific skin, our products evolve with you through lifestyle, geographic and seasonal changes. If you experience significant changes in your life, such as moving to another zip code or a change in your skin, we encourage you to retake the quiz and reorder your products based on that updated assessment.

Your environmental results are calculated based on a forecast of the next two months in your zip code. This forecast is based on an average of data collected from the last ten years, retrieved directly from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, led by the U.S Department of Commerce (https://www.noaa.gov/weather).

Our award-winning A.I. technology is used to suggest ingredients for your products while you take the Skin Genome Quiz™. You might even notice this ingredient list evolves as we gather more information about you throughout the quiz. Our technology needs all the responses before making a recommendation. Yes! Ingredient safety is paramount in our formulation process. Every ingredient PROVEN uses are cross-checked against the EWG database, the gold standard for cosmetic ingredient health and safety. Our formulations do NOT contain phthalates, parabens, SLS, formaldehyde, or palm oil.

PROVEN products perform best when stored at room temperature and are not exposed to direct sunlight. You can display them on your bathroom countertop or vanity or keep them in your medicine cabinet when not in use. Be sure to replace the lid on your jars after use so products are not exposed to air for long periods.

We developed our 3-Step System to meet all your skin needs. PROVEN products work best when used together because other brands may contain ingredients that interact negatively with ingredients in PROVEN’s formulas or have “filler” ingredients your skin doesn’t need. However, if you can’t live without certain other skincare products, you can incorporate PROVEN into your existing routine. If you’re currently using prescription medications for your skin (topical or oral), please email care@provenskincare.com (emailto:care@provenskincare.com) with your medication names and dosages. One of our skin experts will let you know if incorporating PROVEN products into your routine is right for you.

While PROVEN was co-developed with dermatologists and is clinically proven to be effective, you do not need a prescription to purchase PROVEN.

Although our products have a stable shelf life, please do not use PROVEN products that you have had for longer than two years.

SPF is a crucial step in any skincare routine, as sun exposure can accelerate the look of fine lines and wrinkles and increase skin cancer risk. Both chemical and physical sunscreens provide broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection but differ in how they block the sun’s harmful rays. Chemical sunscreens utilize FDA-approved ingredients such as octocrylene, avobenzone, and homosalate to sink into the skin and absorb sun rays, turning the rays into heat and releasing them from the skin. Physical sunscreen is composed of mineral ingredients such as zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide that act as a protective layer on your skin, deflecting sun rays.

At PROVEN, we only formulate physical sunscreens or hybrid sunscreens that use a mix of chemical and physical sun protection. Chemical sunscreens pose some environmental risks and are known to cause reactions in people with sensitive skin.

For best results, use your day moisturizer or night cream while your skin is still damp (not wet.) Using product on damp skin allows your skin to absorb the emollients more effectively!

The PROVEN 3-Step Skincare is unique to individual skincare needs. Based on your answers to questions about your particular skin concerns, skin type, lifestyle, and environmental factors, our AI algorithm analyzes our database of ingredients for skin benefits to develop a formula that is uniquely yours.

PROVEN products are clinically proven to help with acne. Independent, third-party clinical tests have shown PROVEN skincare to be effective for acne, with 90% of participants confirming their skin was rid of impurities after using PROVEN for 28 days.

Based on research from the Skin Genome Project™, PROVEN has identified three simple actions that are crucial to achieving and maintaining healthy skin—cleansing, protecting, and repairing. After taking the Skin Genome Quiz™, we create three personalized products that cleanse, repair, and protect your skin in one simple routine that is custom-made for you. The PROVEN 3-Step System ensures your skin is thoroughly cared for in just three products, saving you time, money, and effort.

  • PROVEN CleanserGreat skin starts with a great cleanse, and a personalized one ensures you’re targeting exactly what your skin needs. First, remove any makeup and then dampen the skin on your face and neck with lukewarm or cool water. Using 2-4 pumps of Personalized Cleanser, gently massage the product onto your face and neck with your fingertips in a circular motion for 1-2 minutes. Rinse well with lukewarm or cool water and pat dry with a towel. Immediately follow with Personalized Day Moisturizer in the morning or Personalized Night Cream in the evening.

  • PROVEN Day MoisturizerOur moisturizer includes SPF, so you are protected from the sun’s harmful rays daily (because yes, even when it is cloudy or raining, your skin is exposed to UVA/UVB rays). In the morning, apply two pumps of Personalized Day Moisturizer to cleansed, damp skin, avoiding the eye area. Allow a layer to sit on top of your skin and avoid over-rubbing. Reapply every 3-4 hours and immediately after sweating or swimming.

  • PROVEN Night CreamPROVEN’s Personalized Night Cream works hard to address your specific skin concerns and rejuvenate your skin overnight. After cleansing with your Personalized Cleanser, pat dry, and while your skin is still damp, gently massage a dime-sized amount onto the face and neck.

When incorporating new products into your skincare routine, it takes 4-6 weeks for your skin to fully adjust to the new ingredients and begin to see results. A good skincare routine will keep your skin hydrated but not oily and comfortable throughout the day. You'll start to see a clearer, healthier complexion. The PROVEN 3-Step System is designed to protect your skin during the day and help rejuvenate it overnight.

There are different lifestyle and environmental factors at play during the night and the day, which the PROVEN Personalized Eye Cream Duo takes into account. Day formulations provide immediate benefits and protection from sun & blue light. They are formulated with a light, non-greasy texture that works well under makeup and has no risk of causing sun sensitivity. Your Night Eye Cream offers a heavier targeted treatment that works as you sleep for proven results that build over time. For optimal results, both are recommended.

Yes! Our products are 100% cruelty-free and certified Animal-Test Free by PETA.

PROVEN products are non-comedogenic but not oil-free. Your skin barrier (the lipid layer near the skin’s surface) needs oil, so your skin naturally produces it. But don’t worry—we’ve chosen the finest possible oils, like Rose Oil, to balance and protect your skin from daily wear and tear.

At PROVEN, we use a combination of safe, non-toxic ingredients derived from nature and science. We work hard to ensure our ingredients are free from animal testing and derivatives. As PROVEN continues to grow, we plan to certify our products as vegan. Our products are already 100% cruelty-free and certified Animal-Test Free by PETA.

When dealing with specific skin issues, your skin will sometimes rebel against the ingredients it needs to heal. If you've just started using your PROVEN system, please continue to give it a bit more time. As with any skincare, your skin typically requires an adjustment period to get used to the new ingredients. You should expect to begin seeing results after a complete skin cycle (28 days), though this time may be shorter or longer depending on your skin. If you're using your PROVEN system for the first time and notice an increase in acne, please don't sound the alarm just yet. When using new products for the first time, many customers commonly experience skin purging. The powerful active ingredients in your PROVEN Skincare system may help to accelerate skin cell turnover– the process in which the skin starts shedding dead skin cells faster than expected. New, fresh skin cells make their way to the surface, pushing out any existing buildup and excess sebum. Purging looks different from person to person and can be a combination of whiteheads, blackheads, cysts, papules, and pustules. It typically takes a complete skin cycle (about 28 days) for your skin to adjust and reflect clearer, glowing skin fully. However, some night creams can cause clogged pores, further irritating the skin. Breakouts happen in an area where you usually don't and take longer to disappear or shrink. It's important to know when a night cream is not suitable for your skin. If you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to one of our skin experts at care@provenskincare.com. PROVEN is created to improve your overall skin health. Please give your skin some time and continue using your routine consistently for the best results.

PROVEN was founded by two expectant mothers, so we have cared about the needs of pregnant and nursing mothers from the start. If you are pregnant or nursing, please indicate this on your Skin Genome Quiz™ or reach out to our skin experts at care@provenskincare.com so we can take extra care to adjust your formulas to be safe for you.

We always recommend performing a self-administered patch test before applying it to the skin on your face and neck. While PROVEN only uses clean, non-toxic ingredients proven to be clinically effective, a patch test can help determine if your skin can tolerate a product before incorporating it into your routine.

To perform a patch test, apply a dime-sized amount of product to a small area of skin that is unlikely to get washed or rubbed away, such as the inside of your arm or the bend of your elbow. A reaction may not occur immediately, so leaving the product on your skin for a few hours or as long as it would usually be on the skin is important. If you experience a skin reaction, wash off the product immediately and discontinue use.

Yes! PROVEN products are non-comedogenic.

You may notice skin improvements within two weeks of starting your PROVEN 3-Step System, but it may take up to 4-6 weeks. Skin cells take around 28 days to renew, so as PROVEN products begin to “reprogram” your cells, visible results become apparent. And since PROVEN Skincare products evolve over time, your skin will continue to improve far beyond that first month.

Reformulation is the process of improving on an existing formula or selecting a new formula based on your environment, diet, age, and 45+ factors to receive a customized 3-Step Skincare that better addresses your skincare needs and concerns.

Our team at PROVEN is hard at work to improve our environmental footprint. In 2022, we are proud to transition our PROVEN shipping products to 100% recycled and 100% recyclable cardboard. We’re exploring new ways to make our packaging as eco-friendly as possible while ensuring our products are packaged safely and effectively.

We appreciate the fact that you are conscious about the environment and want to let you know that we are as well! The outer box is made of recyclable paper. The bottles are plastic with an aluminum exterior coating, which are layered together and cannot be separated. Recycling these bottles will depend on your waste management company. In addition, we’re currently on the path to becoming a carbon-neutral company. In the early days, we had a lot to learn about packaging science, but we just cut back our packaging material waste, decreasing the amount of paper product that we use by more than 55%. We also just started a partnership in which we’ll plant a tree for every set of products to offset some of the carbon from shipping. Ultimately, we’re on the path to achieving great things and we welcome other innovative thoughts in this space so that we can do our part in creating a sustainable future.

You may choose to have your order delivered to a PO box. If your PO box is too small to accommodate packages, please check with the desk to retrieve your package.

In order for the package to be scanned, there are barcodes attached to the package which are scanned regularly as it moves from facility to facility, often several times until your package reaches its destination. Every time the barcode is scanned, the status of your delivery is updated.

There are multiple reasons why you may not be seeing updated information on your tracking. If your tracking number is not updating the status of your shipment, please allow a few extra days and see if your shipment arrives. If it doesn’t, please let us know.

Occasionally couriers will place packages near the area noted on your tracking, usually because the package is too large for your mailbox, protect the package from poor weather, or just out of sight for safety concerns.

  3. Enter the email address you used to complete your Skin Genome Quiz™

  8. Enter a new password in box one, then into box two to confirm
  9. Select 'Submit' to log in to your account

Tip: your password must contain at least six characters and include one uppercase letter, one lower case letter, and one number.

Troubleshooting: if you've followed steps 1-4 above and do not see the 'Recover Your Password' email in your inbox, it may have been improperly routed by your email provider. In this case, you may locate the email by trying the following tips.
